A Different Way of Seeing
A Group Workshop for Exploring How We See

What if the way we see something is only one way of seeing it?
We may carry assumptions about what is normal, obvious, appropriate, or simply “the way things are”.
Sometimes we notice them.Often, we don't.
This workshop creates space to become curious about what we are looking at — and what we may not be seeing.

What This Workshop is About - A Space to Look Again
This workshop is an opportunity to notice how you are already seeing things.
It is not about learning how to think differently.
Through questions, conversation, and reflection, we explore the assumptions, experiences, and perspectives that shape what we notice — and sometimes what remains outside our view.
There is no right or wrong way to see things.
The purpose is to become a little more aware of the perspective you already have, rather than change it.

The Five Questions
Five Questions. Five Ways of Looking.
1. What do I take for granted?
Noticing the things that feel obvious, normal, or simply “the way things are”.
2. What might I not be seeing?
Looking beyond what is immediately visible — without assuming that seeing more is necessarily better.
3. How can the same words mean something different?
Exploring how the same words or events can be experienced differently by different people.
4. When did this become "obvious" to me?
Looking at where some of our assumptions and ideas of what is “normal” may have come from.
5. What becomes visible when we see differently?
Stepping back and noticing what else might come into view.
How We Explore
Questions, Conversation, Reflection
Each session follows a simple rhythm:
A QuestionA short story or perspective to open the conversation.
Personal ReflectionTime to consider your own response before hearing from others.
ConversationSharing and listening in a small group.
A Different ViewNoticing what becomes visible through someone else's experience.
Reflection Between SessionsReturning to the question in your own time. The intention is to notice what happens when different answers are in the room, instead of arriving at the same answer.

What Might Become Visible
You may notice:
- Assumptions you rarely stop to question- Things you have been seeing without really noticing- How differently the same words or situations can be experienced- Where some of your “obvious” ideas came from- Questions you had not thought to ask before
There is no particular conclusion to reach.
You may simply leave with a few new questions.

Is This For You?
This workshop may be for you if:
- You are curious about how you see the world- You enjoy exploring questions rather than being given answers- You are interested in hearing how other people see the same things - You would like some space to pause, reflect, and look again There is no need to come with a particular problem or question.
Curiosity is enough.

What Might This Lead?
A group conversation can be a beginning.
Sometimes, exploring an idea with others is enough.
Sometimes, a question stays with you.
And sometimes, you may choose to explore that question more deeply — in a conversation centred around your own experience.
If that happens, "A Different Way of Seeing" is also available as a 90-minute one-to-one conversation.
And for those who are interested in exploring a transition more deeply, "Perspective Coaching" offers a longer space for reflection and exploration.
